One surprised onlooker said Emma, 17, appeared to have totally fallen under Daniel’s spell.
The pair arrived at 10pm at the Imperial Arms, Fulham, West London - a stone’s throw from Daniel’s home.
They quickly headed out to the garden, hoping not to be seen.
It is thought to be their first date.
The onlooker said: “They arrived quite late at the pub, around 10pm, and sat outside, using each other’s bodies for warmth.
“Emma, who was wearing a black top and matching pashmina, kept looking over her shoulder nervously as if she didn’t wanted to be recognised. When people started to notice the couple and began pointing, she wrapped her scarf around her head so only her eyes were peeping out.
“Daniel found her new look hysterical and started laughing. Throughout the night, in fact, he just kept giggling like a love-struck teen.
“The pair seemed totally absorbed in one another’s company, though they were chatting and joking easily until just before closing time.
“They then left the pub, heads together and whispering, and headed in the direction of Daniel’s home nearby.”
Although the teenagers have been friends for seven years - since filming Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2001 - they have never before been romantically linked.
Daniel split with Equus co-star Laura O’Toole, 22, earlier this year.
Last week, Emma was rumoured to be dating Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell, which she denies. Reports have emerged that Watson’s parents have banned her from seeing Borrell.
The star’s mother and father “went mad” after finding out their daughter had been partying with Borrell last week, and have now forbidden the pair meeting again.
A source close to the family told Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, “They told Emma in no uncertain terms that she’s not to see Johnny again.
“They have always kept a strict eye on their daughter and are very protective parents.
“It was a huge shock to see their little girl coming out of a party with hell-raiser Borrell on her arm. He’s 10 years older than her and he’s admitted to being a drug addict in the past.”
Emma and Johnny, 27, were spotted together at London’s National Portrait Gallery last Monday before partying at nearby nightclub Dolce.
She said, “I’d never met him [Johnny Borrell] before so that was great as I’m a big Razorlight fan. But goodness, I am really going to have to watch who I stand next to from now on!”

Britney Caught Shoplifting
Troubled pop star Britney Spears caused a ruckus at a trendy LA shop this weekend after she walked out wearing a 100 (Rs 7,753) top she hadn’t paid for. The singer was doing a spot of shopping at the exclusive Fred Segal store in Melrose Avenue with 25 aides and bodyguards when the incident occurred.
Britney’s awaiting entourage, including bodyguards and friends, then argued with the store’s staff and with cops and fans. But pals of the 26-year-old Toxic singer insist Britney simply forgot to pay for the long-sleeved vest. She was not arrested.
Britney was recently released from Los Angeles’ UCLA Medical Center, where she was on psychiatric hold.
With greasy black hair, Spears, who’s currently locked in a bitter custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, had spent Saturday afternoon shopping in a leopard-print top and jeans.
But she emerged from the hip store wearing a black top.
An onlooker said, “Britney seemed to be in a daze. She rushed around looking at coats and bags and then left with her gang of 25 people.
“The staff were just staring at each other, then said ‘I think she’s taken a top’. There was chaos outside with fans and police.”
This isn’t the first time Britney has been accused of stealing - she allegedly swapped a disposable lighter from a garage last December and a wig from a sex shop last year.
Meanwhile, supermodel Heidi Klum has invited Britney to live with her. The 34-year-old model, who is married to singer Seal, says she wants to help Britney get her life back together. “She can call me and come live in our house with us for a couple of months,” Klum said.
“I would help set her straight. I am sorry when a young person gets thrown so off track,” she said in an interview to be aired on German television.
Oscar snub for Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton has reportedly been banned from the Oscars. The hotel heiress, whose latest movie The Hottie and the Nottie failed to do well at the US box office, was devastated after being told she couldn’t attend the prestigious event on Sunday night.
A source said, “She cried hot, salty tears when she was banned from the Oscars. She’s desperate to be taken seriously as an actress and hoped she would be able to network with film executives.”
Paris, who infamously starred in the sex-tape One Night in Paris, had even splashed out millions on a designer dress for the ceremony at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre.
The Simple Life star is now considering going to one of the many after-show parties, but may have to wear a disguise.
The source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper, “She’s tempted to go to the parties afterwards but might wear her trademark wig to save her dignity.”
Meanwhile, Vanity Fair magazine has decided to scrap its annual Oscar party in support of the recent Hollywood writers’ strike.
Jennifer holds up birth room
Singer-turned-actress Jennifer Lopez has told hospital staff not to enter the room where she will give birth. The Do It Well singer is set to give birth to twins, her first children with husband Marc Anthony, later this month, and has asked staff at Long Island’s North Shore Medical Center not to use the room until she arrives.
A source told the New York Post newspaper, “There is a room, which even has a brown leather couch, that has been sitting empty for two weeks now. Noone is even allowed in there until she gets here. It’s just sitting there for her.”
The hospital has reportedly prepared an entire suite for the 38-year-old star, complete with wooden flooring and a giant TV.
It was recently revealed the hospital has been put on kidnap alert. Staff have been undertaking specialist ‘Code Pink’ drills to ensure they are prepared in case anyone attempts to snatch Jennifer’s babies.
A friend of the Latin pop star said, “Jennifer has spoken so much about how excited she is about the birth that anyone who is considering a kidnapping knows how far she would be willing to go to get her babies back.”
However, hospital bosses have reassured that there is no kidnap threat, and that the timing of the drill was just “coincidental”.

George Clooney spent $40,000 (Rs 15.9 lakh) on a hotel suite for his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day.
The Michael Clayton star and former cocktail waitress Sarah Larson stayed at the Hugh Hefner Sky Villa in Las Vegas’ Playboy Tower in the Palms Casino Resort.
The 9,000 sq ft Sky Villa features an indoor waterfall, a round rotating bed complete with mirrors on the ceiling, a swimming pool, plasma TVs, a massage room, exercise room, sauna, media room and two bedrooms.
Before heading back to their luxurious suite, 46-year-old actor George and Sarah, 28, enjoyed a romantic meal at exclusive Las Vegas restaurant Nove and watched the Cirque Du Soleil tribute show to The Beatles, Love, at the Mirage Hotel and Casino.
The next day, the couple went to the MGM Grand Hotel where they watched the Crazy Horse cabaret show.
George and Sarah started dancing and singing round a nearby fountain as they waited for their limousine.
